Pearls are timeless but they're really strong in 2021.
From the catwalks to the red carpet, pearls have been in the limelight for a while now. Chanel, Givenchy, Gucci and many other fashion houses have all used pearls in their jewellery collections. Some using pearls on their clothes, bags, belts and sunglasses too.
Layering different lengths of pearl strands and combining them with other pieces of jewellery is a big trend. And Baroque pearls in irregular shapes give the classic pearls a modern update.
The pearl is also popular with some famous men. Harry Styles has often been seen wearing a pearl necklace in a number of ways. The catwalks of Dior and Gucci have also been dressing men in pearls...
Unlike other gemstones or even precious metals that are mined from the earth, pearls are pure. Molluscs such as oysters and mussels create pearls. In freshwater rivers and ponds, mussels produce pearls, while in saltwater they are produced by oysters.
Swarovski pearls are pearls made with a crystal core. Their beautiful shimmer is achieved by using a unique coating developed by Swarovski.
And to quote Jackie Kennedy....pearls are always appropriate.
